SIMON GREGORY R. SIMON (Age 16) On Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, DC. Beloved son of Bob and Karen Simon of Berwyn Heights, MD; loving brother of Stephen, Cathryn and Anne-Marie Simon; beloved grandson of Catherine and the late William Simon of Ambler, PA and Kevin and Maren Barcant of Cocoa Beach, FL. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Camillus Catholic Church, 1600 St. Camillus Dr., Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday, August 7 at 10 a.m. Interment George Washington Cemetery, Adelphi, MD, for family and Greg's personal friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greg Simon Memorial, 7601 Hanover Pkwy., Greenbelt, MD 20770, to support Raider student newspaper or the Children's Hospital Foundation at www.dcchildrensfoundation.org . Dear Karen,Bob,Steve, Cathryn and Anne-Marie: I could not believe this when Jane emailed me today, until I saw Greg's photo. I remember him so vividly--kind, smiling and embarassed when I mistook him as the youngest...I am thinking of you and Greg with love and deep sympathy.

I have very sweet memories of the loving Simon family as each of the children passed through my 3 year old class. Each one learned that their name is written on the palm of God's hand, never to be lost or forgotten. Greg is not lost and all is kept in the harvest of God. May we all be consoled by God's loving kindness.

Bob, Karen, Steve, Cathryn and Anne-Marie,
Words can hardly begin to express the depth of sadness we feel at the loss of your son, Greg. If we did not know that he is now with the One who first called him to life, how could we bear it? His life was short, but very full. He brought laughter to all. I have no doubt that heaven is a better place for Greg's being there. God bless all of you.
