JONES, Sr., James Clare
'Jim'
Jim passed away peacefully on June 15, 2013 at the age of 96. He was born on March 15, 1917 and lived his entire life in the Sacramento area. After graduation from Grant Union High School, he served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. After returning from the war he started as a lineman for AT&T and worked for 'Ma Bell' for more than 30 years. During the war, he married Martha Sandidge and together they raised three sons until Martha's passing in 1980. In 1981 Jim married Ida Conway. He enjoyed golfing and travelling with Ida in their motor home as well as volunteer work with the Senior Gleaners. He is survived by his wife Ida (Ada) Jones, son James (Anita Paque) Jones, grandchildren Jennifer Ramella, Kelley (Kevin Weafer) Jones, Michael Jones, Rick (Tracy) Jones and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew and Nicolas Jones, and brother Vernon Jones. Preceded in death by sons Edwin Jones and Rickey (Dale) Jones.
Services will be held on June 21, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Nicoletti Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd.
No flowers please.
