May Phillipps

May Phillipps "Nams", age 75, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was born November 5, 1937 in Marie, Arkansas to Charlie Riddle and Clara Collins Riddle. While living in Tatum, NM, May received her beautician's license and worked as a beautician for many years. When her children were teenagers, she moved to Texas. She also lived in Lake Whitney and retired from the Rocker B Ranch in Reagan County. When she moved to Casa Grande, Arizona to be closer to her mother, she met the love of her life: Douglas McArthur Phillipps and they were married on June 21, 1996. May worked at Walmart while working for her CNA's license. She loved traveling all over Arizona with her husband. After his passing on January 19, 2006, May moved back to Midland to be close to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the ceramics bunch class at the Senior Center in Midland, TX with Sherrie and Bill. Those left to cherish her love and memory are her son: Jimmie Dell Proctor of San Angelo; daughter: Vicki Matthews and husband Jackie of Odessa; sister: Betty Itano of Reno, NV; grandchildren: Jennifer White and husband Jimmy, Michael Moad, Cheryl Moad, and Savannah Proctor; and great-grandchildren: Haylee Phillips and Hayden White; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charlie and Clara Riddle; husband: Douglas McArthur Phillipps; four brothers: Gerald Riddle, Billy Riddle, Charlie Riddle and Dean Riddle; and two sisters: June Houk and Peggy Johnson. Memorial services will be at Manor Park Chapel, 2208 N. Loop 250, Midland, TX on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Bill Billett. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, May requested that donations be made to the St. Joseph Indian School in South Dakota (her favorite charity).
