Hoeppner, Fritz H.

Fritz H. Hoeppner, age 78, of 319 Hoover Street, Whitelaw, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center of Manitowoc.

Fritz was born on June 7, 1935 in Manitowoc, son of the late Fred and Elfrida (Rackow) Hoeppner. He attended Manitowoc and Reedsville schools. Fritz served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War from July 18, 1952 to July 17, 1955. On April 27, 1957 he married the former Mary Ann Lemke in the Town of Liberty. Fritz worked at Manitowoc Cranes and retired March 17, 1998 with 43 years of service. He was a member of the St. John - St. James Ev. Lutheran Church of Reedsville. He was also a member of Whitelaw Sportsman Club.

Fritz is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Mary Ann, Whitelaw; two daughters and sons-in-law: Susan (Todd) Rogala; Cheryl (David) Zipperer; two sons: David Hoeppner; Dale Hoeppner all of Whitelaw; eight grandchildren: Ashley and Linsey Rogala; Kari (Matt) Bubolz; Craig (Angela) Zipperer; Danielle, Andrew, Lauren and Alex Hoeppner; three great-grandchildren: Talen and Brody Bubolz; Aliyana Zipperer; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Marian Hoeppner; Valeria Stuckmann; Janice (Paul) Dettman; LuAnn Helgeson; Lois (Howard) Krueger, nieces, nephews, foster brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Elfrida Hoeppner; one son: Keith Hoeppner; one granddaughter: Angela Zipperer; three brothers: Max, Albert and Paul Hoeppner; one sister: Erma Zahn; three brothers-in-law: Edward Zahn; Gilbert Stuckmann; Howard Helgeson; one sister-in-law: Marjorie Hoeppner; two nieces: Lynn Hoeppner; Tami Dettman; three nephews: Ron Hoeppner; Glen Stuckmann; Gary Zahn; Foster Parents: Clarence and Anita Haelfrisch; foster brother: Giles Haelfrisch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15 2014 at St. John - St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, 219 Manitowoc Street, Reedsville. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate with burial to follow at St. John - St. James West Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John - St. James Ev. Lutheran Church and the Manitowoc Lutheran High School. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the Hoeppner family with funeral arrangements. The family would like to thank Holy Family Memorial Medical Center emergency room staff, the 5th Floor staff and the ICU Unit staff for all the compassionate care Fritz received.
