Virgil G. Johnson

Virgil G. Johnson, the son of Frank and Esta (Chancelor) Johnson, was born February 3, 1919, in Superior, Iowa. He departed this life on Friday, January 5, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 87 years old. Mutt grew up in the Superior, Iowa, area and received his education in the Superior schools, graduating in 1937. On September 21, 1946, he was united in marriage to Betty Logan. After their marriage the couple made their home south of Superior where they farmed and raised their family. In 1978, they moved into Superior. Mutt enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the markets, playing cards at the Superior Cafe and visiting with his friends. Betty passed away April 8, 2004. Left to cherish Mutt's memory is his son, William Patrick and his wife, Elona of Superior; three grandchildren, Jennifer of Kansas City, Kansas, Christa of Iowa City, Iowa, Jay and his wife, Tracy of Superior their son, Logan; and one sister, Lola of Texas.
