Barbara Williams

PARAMUS - Barbara Jane (Manning) Williams, 87, died on June 19.

Barbara was born in Paterson and grew up in Hawthorne and then Midland Park. She attended Pompton High School and Barbizon Modeling School. Barbara held several secretarial jobs. She later worked at the Paterson Evening News, The Ridgewood News and then finally Lont & Overkamp. She was an optimist and tried to always see life in a positive light. She loved the beach and traveling. She had an interest in fashion and enjoyed social events. She loved reading and having conversations with everyone. She loved animals, particularly her own pets, her "doggies."

She was the wife of John Nelson Williams for 60 years; mother of James Williams; sister of Patricia Hall; aunt of Suzanne Dobson, the late Henry Dobson, John Dobson, Douglas Hall, Emma Hall and Dylan Hall. Barbara was predeceased by her parents James Manning and Addrien Manning of Midland Park.

Family will receive friends at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Paramus from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
