Wise. Witty. Wonderful.

How very fortunate I was to have worked with him, to be challenged by him, to have learned so much from him. And even more fortunate to have been his friend.

I already miss him.

David was a true "gentle man" and will be missed by all who knew him, especially anyone who was lucky enough to work with him. I was one of those lucky people--Renée Levitz (Fairfax, VA)

David was a force in the DC design community and he will be greatly missed! He was an alumnus of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and his work was a tribute to that fine school! ~ Timothy Whelan

I had the great pleasure of working with David and getting to know him.. he was very special and very talented..his warmth and sense of wonderment filled the room.. he had a special, infectious 'joie de vivre' and was always great fun to be with - whether collaborating on projects or talking over a glass of wine... he had a great sense of humor and wit and always had something good to say.. I was blessed to know him.. he will be sorely missed. Go in peace, David..

David was as brilliant as he was handsome; he lit up a room. He was a great teacher and had immeasurable talent. He earned the respect of so many. Farewell dear artist. - Jerole Nelson
