Jerry & Doris, Sorry to hear of your mothers passing. She will be missed by many.

I never knew her personally, but everytime I saw her she was a pretty lady and always took good care of herself! Sorry for your loss, but know you're all in my thoughts and prayers. I know she will be greatly missed by you all!

Marguerite's Obituary

CHARLESTON, IL – MargueriteHonn, age 91 of Charleston, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at herLakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center home in Effingham.  Visitation for family and friends will beheld Tuesday evening (January 31) from 5:00 – 7:00 at Adams Funeral Chapel inCharleston.  Services honoring and celebratingher life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the funeralchapel with Reverend Krista Price officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Cemetery, rural Ashmore, Illinois.   It is requested that memorial gifts in herhonor be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association, the OtterbeinUnited Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's preference.  Gifts may be left on the memorial table atthe visitation or service, or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 ShawneeDrive, Charleston, IL 61920. 

Marguerite was born December 18,1920 in Coles County, Illinois and was a daughter of the late Herman and Inez(Stewart) Davis.  She married RussellFerguson on October 3, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri.  They shared twenty-five years of marriage andfriendship prior to his death in December of 1967.  She later married Altan Honn in January of1973 and he also preceded her in death in 1982. Marguerite is survived by two loving and devoted children, JerryFerguson and wife Gail of Charleston and Doris Jean Walter and her husbandChuck of Washington, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Cimarron Reimel andhusband Bryan of Telford, Pennsylvania, Jody Boroughs and husband Scott ofPullman, Washington and Betsy Walters and husband Jason of Ashmore, Illinois;four great-grandchildren, Rueger and Rohen Walters and Caiden and Bryce Reimel;a sister, Wanda Chism and husband Howard of Mattoon; and several nieces andnephews and their families.  In additionto her parents and husbands, Marguerite was also preceded in death by threesisters and four brothers. 

Marguerite was a member ofthe Otterbein United Methodist Church in Charleston.  Many long-time Charleston residents willremember her as a clerk at the Eisner Food Store where she was employed formany years.  She also volunteered hertime as a member of the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center Guild. 

Marguerite was a kind andconsiderate woman and was blessed with numerous friends.  She enjoyed not only a good cup of coffee butgood times with the ladies who met every Thursday morning at What's Cookin' andshe was always ready for a friendly game of cards with her card-playingfriends.  Marguerite was fond of eatingout and attending barbershop musical events with Al who was a member of theColes County Barbershoppers.  She alsoenjoyed traveling and taking mini-vacations but was always ready to returnhome.  Home was where her family gatheredand as a devoted mother and grandmother hers was filled with warmth and anabundance of love.  Home was a placewhere they enjoyed playing games together such as FARKO; home was a place whereshe enjoyed crocheting, sewing or quilting and sharing these talents with hergranddaughters; home was a place where as a marvelous cook she enjoyedpreparing wonderful meals for her family's enjoyment; home was a place whereshe could dote on her grandbabies; home was where she nurtured closerelationships with her extended family as well – Russell's Aunt Tup was alwaysnear and dear to her heart.  Home was aplace where together lasting memories were created – memories which will alwaysbe treasured by those who loved her dearly.
