Pauline was born on August 16, 1918 in Morgan Township near Rardin, Illinois and was a daughter of the late Jesse and Flora (Courtney) Woodyard.  She married James A. Wright on January 26, 1946 and they celebrated forty-five years of marriage prior to his death in December of 1991.  Pauline is survived by her two sons, Randall Wright and wife Brenda of Houston, Texas and Donald Wright and wife Janice of Springfield, Illinois; three grandchildren, Matthew Wright and wife Cortnee of San Antonio, Texas, Jennifer Taylor and husband Casey of Springfield and Christopher Wright of St. Louis; a sister, Gladys Lafferty of Charleston; a brother, Robert L. Woodyard of Charleston; and many nieces and nephews and their families.  In addition to her parents and her husband Pauline was preceded in death by three sisters, Olive Cole, Inez Manning and Mary Hackett; and two brothers, John Woodyard and Earl Woodyard.

Pauline was a graduate of Charleston High School - Class of 1935.  She, as well as several of her family members, was employed with the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston, and later was employed with Building Services at Eastern Illinois University.  She has been a devoted and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Charleston since 1957.  For many years she served as a children's Sunday School teacher as well as a Deaconess.  She also holds membership with the Eastern Star Ashmore Chapter #670 where she was a Past Worthy Matron and the Charleston VFW Ladies Auxiliary Paul McVey Post 1592, serving as Ladies Auxiliary President at the close of World War II.  Her volunteer work through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) was extremely important to Pauline as it gave her the opportunity to generously help others.

Pauline's family, including her extended family, was her pride and joy – she was very close to and proud of her nieces and nephews.  Randy and Donald, along with their families, were blessed with a wonderful mother and grandmother and they will forever treasure their many fond memories.

Pauline's family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Cheryl Robinson for her loving care, support and friendship these past few years.Click here to view Pauline's video tribute.
