Mildred R. Runnels

CHARLESTON, IL – Mildred Rosalie Runnels, age 82 of Charlestonand formerly of Mattoon, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at herCharleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center home in Charleston.  There will be no visitation or services andher cremated remains will be inurned at the Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois at alater date.  

Mildred was born April 1, 1930 in Irvington, Illinois adaughter of the late Nathan and Dolly (Cook) Piercy.  She married Lawrence Earl Runnels on May 29,1947 in Dix, Illinois and he preceded her in death on September 18, 1972.  She is survived by three children, H. AlanRunnels (Sharon) of Charleston, Nathan (Glenda) Runnels of Grants Pass, Oregonand Cindy (Scott) Johnston of Homeland, California; and numerous grandchildrenand great-grandchildren.  She was also precededin death by a son, Larry E. Runnels and several siblings. 

Mildred was employed with the Brown Shoe Company both inMattoon and Charleston and also worked at several area nursing homes.
