Kack, as she was lovingly known, was born on July 14, 1939 in Charleston, Illinois a daughter of Kenneth and Nelda (Briggs) Hudson.  She married Robert "Bob" Lawhorn on April 4, 1965 at the Whetstone Baptist Church in Hutton Township, rural Charleston.  She is survived by Bob, her loving husband and best friend of forty-seven plus years; two daughters, Leeanne Reed and her husband Rick of rural Charleston and Rita Guyette and her husband Mike of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Kaleb Reed and Klaire Reed, both of rural Charleston; her mother, Nelda Hudson of Mattoon; two brothers, Ed Hudson and his wife Nancy of Charleston and Joe Hudson of Arizona.  She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth and one brother, Steven.

Kack's retirement began after working seventeen years for the Eastern Illinois University Foundation.  Many will remember her from her earlier work as a secretary for the Coles County Farm Bureau.  She was a member of Eastern Star and a life-long and devoted member of the Whetstone Baptist Church, having served as a deacon.

Kack will best be remembered as a woman whose family was first and foremost.  Her favorite time was spent "hanging out" with her and Bob's grandkids.  She enjoyed bowling, family gatherings and always looked forward to her travels to Bowling Green, Kentucky for visits with Rita and Mike.

Knowing Kack was indeed special – a blessing.  Her wonderful smile and upbeat personality endeared her to everyone she met; her friends were many and she will long be remembered for her concern for others, her values and goodness.
