Nathaniel's Obituary

CHATTANOOGA,TN – Nathaniel Paul Honnold, age 35 of Chattanooga, Tennessee and formerly ofWest Des Moines, Iowa, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga onFriday, November 2, 2012.  Visitation forfamily and friends will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from Noon until1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston.  Services honoring and celebrating his lifewill begin at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation.  Interment will follow in Harmony Cemeterylocated north of Kansas, Illinois.   Itis requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his honor be made toDiscovery Place.  Gifts may be left onthe memorial table at the visitation or services; mailed to Adams FuneralChapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920; or may be made online bygoing to the following site:       http://givingmatters.guidestar.org/NonprofitProfile.aspx?OrgId=2193&DonateNow=1    

Nate was born on January 18,1977 in Mattoon, Illinois and was the son of Keith L. and Donna M. (Kimmel)Honnold.  Nate is survived by his parentsof Chattanooga; his sister, Heather Honnold and her husband Mike Thacker ofCorpus Christi, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Wilma Kimmel of Mt. Vernon,Illinois; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his maternalgrandfather, Ardell Kimmel; his paternal grandparents, Benjamin and GladysHonnold; and his brother, Jeremy Todd Honnold. 

Nate was a graduate of ValleyHigh School in West Des Moines and was a graduate of the Masonry Program atEllsworth Community College.  He wasemployed as a surveyor for the construction industry.  Nate was an avid sports fan and the ChicagoBears, Chicago Cubs and the University of Illinois were among his favoriteteams.  He also enjoyed bowling and was amember of various bowling teams.  Hislove and enjoyment for the outdoors enhanced his hobbies of biking, hiking andskiing. 

Nate possessed an infectioussmile and a magnetic personality which attracted people to him.  He made friends easily and valued hisfriendships.  He was a loving son,brother and grandson who treasured his family's love and support.  His family and friends will cherish theirmany fond memories.
