Not sure what to say?

Kevin, just remember, as time passes the loss may be diminished , but the memories are always present. I never knew Holly, but you were a friend and today I share your loss. May God Bless you and your family.

Remembering what a kind and beautiful soul you were. Prayers for peace and comfort for your family

Dear Kevin and Evan,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your wife and Mother. Holly always had a huge smile on her face, which is always a great way to make others smile, too! Nothing makes you feel better than to smile! She touched so many peoples' lives and will be remembered forever by everyone who knew her! God bless you two, be strong for each other, and know she will always be looking down on you! Your memories you have, are just that, yours! cherish them forever!!

Dear Storm and Hoyt Families,
I was so sorry to hear about Holly. I saw her for the first time in years this summer at the Methodist church service. She was so proud introducing me to Kevin and Evan. Holly and I were best friends in 5th grade at Jefferson. I still remember sleep-overs at her house. We reconnected a couple of years ago when she gave me invaluable help and advice with a reading class I was taking. Through my mother, I was kept abreast of her careers moves from...

Every time I pick up a young children's book, I will think of Holly. It was an honor to work with Holly and to have a friendship with her. What an amazing educator and woman. May God comfort your family.

Kevin,

I apologize to hear of the loss of your wife Holly. After reading about her she sounds like she was a very loving mother and wife. You and your family will be in our prayers.

Kevin,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. May you be wrapped in The Father's wings of comfort and love.

It is always interesting to hear of a person's reputation. I did not know her well, but I always heard the best things about her. She was smart, caring and dedicated to her students. As a Parent Advocate, I typically hear the worst stuff, but everyone who spoke about Holly always glowed with appreciation and spoke of nothing but compliments. She will be missed. Very missed.

Kevin and Family,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful, caring person. Holly's smile could light up a room. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Keeping you all in my prayers.

Holly was born on December 10, 1961 in Springfield, Illinois, a daughter of Morton and Sue (Ratterree) Hoyt.  She married Kevin Storm on June 21, 1986 and they have shared twenty-six years of friendship and marriage.  In addition to Kevin she is survived by her son, Evan Storm; her parents, Morton and Sue Hoyt of Urbana; a brother, Nick Hoyt, also of Urbana; two sisters, Laurel Campbell and husband Mike of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Karen Lange and husband Rich of LaGrange, Illinois; her mother-in-law, Kay Stoever and husband Larry of Summerfield, Florida; a sister-in-law, Becky Wesch and husband Steve of Arcola, Illinois; brother-in-law, Stuart Storm and wife Wanda of Ft. Holly was a 1980 graduate of Charleston High School and received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Eastern Illinois University.  She began her career as a first grade teacher for the Mattoon School District and for the past eleven years she has been employed by the Charleston School District as a Reading Specialist for Mark Twain and Ashmore Schools.  She was also an instructor in the Education Department at Eastern Illinois University.  Holly was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston where she was actively involved with the Education Committee.  She was also a member of the Illinois Teachers Association, the National Education Association, International Reading Association and Choice Literacy.

Holly radiated true kindness and compassion in all that she did.  She was passionate about her career choice as a teacher and felt a special love for her students.  She was an avid reader and was dedicated and devoted to teaching and sharing her love of reading with her classes.  Holly's talent for decorating was affirmed upon entering their tastefully decorated home and her love for animals was evident in the many pets she so fondly took care of.  She also enjoyed being outdoors, tending her beautiful flower gardens, swimming in the pool, vacationing at the beach, or strolling through Fox Ridge with Kevin on one of their many walks.  Holly appreciated her friends and developed deep and abiding friendships.  But it was always her family which remained her priority and her devotion as a wife and mother was evident - Kevin was the love of her life and Evan her pride and joy.

Holly lived a life that demonstrated a love and kindness for others that was true and sincere.  She was a role model for many and will always be remembered for the loving and positive ways in which she touched and influenced the lives of her family, friends and students. Click here to view Holly's memorial video.
