CHARLESTON, IL – Ruth Boyer,age 89 of Charleston, passed on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Sarah BushLincoln Health Center in Mattoon. APrivate Family Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held onThursday, February 7, 2013 at Adams Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sharon Patton officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will follow in the Newman Cemeterylocated in Newman, Illinois. It isrequested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her honor be made to theAmerican Cancer Society. Gifts may bemailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
Ruth was born on April 8,1923 in Mattoon, Illinois and was a daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Nellie(Harshbarger) Ambler. She married Forrest A. Boyer on April 6, 1946 inChampaign, Illinois and they enjoyed fifty-nine years of friendship and marriageprior to his death on August 26, 2005. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Randa Conroy and herhusband Micheal of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Ralph Ambler and wife Sue; asister, Janet Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruthwas preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Glenn Ambler; and a sister,Frances Fonner.
Ruth was a homemaker whosucceeded in creating a warm and loving home for her family. She enjoyed her travels with Forrest,especially along the California coast and Eastern Seaboard, and their visits toHawaii and Alaska with Randa were among her most memorable. Ruth was a wonderful loving, caring andsupportive wife and mother and was loved and admired by all who knew her.
