Rita Mavis, 92, passed away April 7, 2013 at Riverwalk Village, Noblesville, IN.She was born August 13, 1920 in New Castle, the daughter of Omar and Agnes Williams.She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Victoria Guild and the Art Society. She was a volunteer at St. John's and was a lover of music, arts, literature, poetry and people.She is survived by five children, David Head of San Francisco, CA, Jim (Boni) Head of Lenoir City, TN, Mary Anne Heiney of Anderson, Nancy (Chuck) Garriott of Noblesville and Bill (Anita) Head of Westminster, CO; step children, Gary Mavis, Leslie Oniki and Stan Mavis; six grandchildren; several step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Williams; her first husband, Joe Head; and her second husband, Adrian Mavis.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Robert Williams officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
