Not sure what to say?

I knew the Armstrong "boys" in High School (Oakland).....what great guys! Sorry to hear of their passing.

Liz -

Wanted to let you know I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. It wasn't long ago I was right where you are as I lost my Dad suddenly in December. You have been on my mind and although we haven't seen or talked in years, I just wanted to let you know how much I am thinking of you and your family. Everyday is hard, however, each day gets easier, as best it can. Take care Liz.

Liz, We are still in shock over the news about your Dad's passing. He was just sitting in our camper two days before it happened! Regretfully, we will not be there to share in the celebration of Steve's life and it makes me sick that we can't come. Please know that we will miss Steve tremendously and that we are thinking of all of you, especially your mom. I can't imagine what she must be going through. Thank goodness she has you, Shawn and Andy to lean on at this time. By the way, it was...

Awwww... Sweet Uncle Steve, we will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace and forever be our family angel of joy, love and happiness. Love, Jill, Neil, Mya and Ava

Sending thoughts and prayers your way, cousin Steve will be missed dearly. So sorry for the loss. Hugs and kisses!

So long dear pal. I too cherish fond memories of your grandfather's farm and long ago ventures we shared together. You are thought of often and will be missed forever.

Katy and kids,
I'd lost touch with you guys since i have moved to Mattoon-Steve was one of a kind. Always freindly, never judgmental, always a freindlysmile and wanting to know how how you were. I'll always think I was a better person for having known him... sorry for your loss. hang in there it will get better-I've been there.

I was honored to work with Steve as a Pru Agent for several yrs in Mattoon. I was Commander of the Army Reserve/Decatur and shared many "war stories" with him. I grew up in Arcola, so my love for Tuscola lives with me always. His stories, especially of family are still with me. He was not my manager, but he knew me well, as I was the top district agent for several years. I retired from Pru and went on to another career as he did. I hope he had a good life after Pru. Thinking of you all.

Katie--Steve was always the consumate gentleman whether he spoke to you in person or on the phone. I always enjoyed it when he would call you at work and I answered the phone. The comedic banter was a breath of fresh air. I know that he will be missed sorely not only by his family but by all who knew and loved him. God bless and keep you, Liz and Andy close to His heart until you meet again.

Steve was one of a kind!  He was blessed with an extraordinary sense of humor which he shared with everyone and could promote a smile just by giving you that special look.  Growing up he loved to help his grandfather on the family farm near Hindsboro and he relished sharing the stories of those times in his life which remained very special to him.  Steve was genuine and his feelings for others were heartfelt.  His admirable qualities of generosity and compassion accompanied by a kind and loving spirit were enhanced through his humble and unassuming attitude.  He was a man of integrity whose tolerance, patience and easy going demeanor created a special person that many were blessed to call their friend.

Steve was an avid golfer, enjoyed photography and yard work, was patriotic and had a love for country, was a John Wayne fanatic, and a grill master – his BBQ chicken was delicious!  He was best at being a wonderful and loving husband and father who always made his family a priority.  He was proud of his children and their accomplishments and excelled at being a good role model.  Steve will always be fondly remembered by his family and friends and they will forever cherish their many amazing memories.
