Betty's Obituary
Betty Jean (Higgins) Dunn Porter, 85, Linton, formerly of Bicknell, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday July 14, 2013 at Greene County General Hospital. Betty was born March 1, 1928, in Knox County, the daughter of Landis Earl and Edith Mae (Elgan) Higgins. She married Martin Max Dunn July 4, 1947 and he passed on November 11, 1963. She then married Hubert Jack Porter and he passed January 25, 1986. She was a teacher's aide for the North Knox School Corporation. Betty was affliated with the Bicknell First Church of the Nazarene.Betty is survived by her children, Billy M. Dunn and his wife Vicki, of Linton, Kathy Dunn Steele, of Linton, Roger L. Dunn and his wife Michelle of Linton, and Joni Dunn-Dickerson, of Princeton; grandchildren, Troy Steele, Ryan Dunn, Holly Dunn Marcum, and Jordan Dunn; five great-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter due in August; and brother Majors David Higgins and his wife Darlene, of Bedford.She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Martin and Hubert, five brothers, and three sisters.Visitation will be on Wednesday July 17, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Thursday July 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery with Major David Higgins officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.fredrickandson.com.
