I am so sorry to hear of Charlie Bob's passing. He was a great guy and had such a heartwarming smile. I know he dearly loved you all. He will be truly missed by all his friends, of which Ferris and I were honored to consider him as one of ours.

CHARLESTON, IL – Charles Robert "Charlie Bob" Snoddy, age 74 of Charleston and formerly of Ashmore, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, July 15, 2013. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening, July 18, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Masonic Services conducted by members and guests of Ashmore Masonic Lodge #390 A.F. & A.M. will be held at the close of visitation. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the funeral chapel with Pastor Scott Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashmore Cemetery. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or to Lincolnland Hospice. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or service, or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
Charlie Bob was born on April 29, 1939 in Charleston, Illinois and was the only son of the late Russell Glenn and Madeline (Hale) Snoddy. He married Carolyn I. Williams on November 11, 1961 in Martinsville, IL and they have shared 51 years of marriage and friendship. In addition to Carolyn he is survived by three loving children, Robert "Bert" Snoddy and wife Nancy of Charleston, Melinda "Mindy" Clodfelder and husband Dave of Villa Grove, IL, and Crystal Snoddy of Charleston; three grandchildren, April Higgens of Mattoon and Matthew Snoddy and Ashley Snoddy, both of Charleston; two great-grandchildren, Haylen Ball and Aubrie Tolliver; two sisters, Janice Cornwell of Zionsville, IN and Martha (Rich) Stogdell of Mechanicsburg, IL; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Charlie Bob was a life-long truck driver and a retired member of the Teamster Union Local 26. He hauled for H & F Trucking, Columbia Machine and most recently for NE-CO Asphalt Company. He was a member of Ashmore Masonic Lodge #390 A.F. & A.M., Cornbelt Shrine and Ansar Shrine, Valley of Danville Scottish Rite, Charleston Moose Lodge #1388, the Charleston Elks B.P.O.E. #623 and the Mattoon Fraternal Order of Eagles 3438.
Charlie Bob was probably liked, loved and most known for his upbeat personality and unending sense of humor. He enjoyed life by giving a smile and creating one for others – it was what he did well. He was fond of nature and being outdoors. He used to enjoy hunting and fishing and always enjoyed keeping tabs on the birds and the squirrels in their yard. Charlie Bob and Carolyn spent time at the river with their many friends and enjoyed winter vacations in Arizona. His family was near and dear to his heart and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren occupied their own special place. Charlie Bob's presence will truly be missed but he left his family and friends with a treasure chest of smiles as they recall their many fond memories of this man they dearly loved.
