BARTLEYSTAUNTON, VA?Lucille Gay (Gum) Bartley died Saturday, August 10, 2013, at her residence near Churchville.She was born November 9, 1931, in Augusta County, the daughter of the late Berlin Franklin and Goldie (Baker) Gum.A graduate of North River High School, she was employed by Planters Bank and retired from ASR.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gary Bartley; and two brothers, Berlin Franklin Gum, Jr. and John Hunter Gum, D.D.S.She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl Bruce and Carolyn Bartley and Kenneth Scott and Patty Bartley, all of Churchville; a daughter, Carol Ann Craig of Fishersville; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Fultz of Churchville; an aunt, Jean (Gum) Lightner of Weyers Cave; a sister-in-law, Nancy Lynn Gum of Churchville; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.At her request, Mrs. Bartley wished to be cremated and that there be no visitation. Interment will be private.The family would like to express their special thanks and deep appreciation to her daughter-in-law, Patty Bartley, Hospice of the Shenandoah, Ranita Robinette, and Heather Byram.Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
