Della's Obituary

DELLA LIGHT, daughter of Henry and Margaret Elliott Wells, was born February 25, 1922, in Salem, South Dakota, and departed this life December 1, 2013, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years.Early in life Della made a profession of faith in Christ and at the time of her passing she had been attending Assembly of God church in Richland.Della attended school in a one room country school in South Dakota. In later years, she and her two sisters moved to California, during WWII, where she worked for Boeing. She was known as ?Rosie the Riveter.? Those who worked with her appreciated her sweet disposition and strong work ethic.While visiting her grandparents in Pulaski County, Della met the love of her life and her future husband Marion Francis Light, Sr. They were united in marriage on December 24, 1948. To this union was born three children, all surviving. Marion Sr. preceded her in death.Although Della?s main priority was being a homemaker and devoting her attention to her husband and children, she also worked as a custodian for Boatman?s Bank in Richland.In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, reading, and completing puzzle books. However, her most treasured times were those spent with her family. They were most important to her.She is survived by one son, Marion Light Jr. and his wife Patricia of Richland, MO; two daughters, Carol Light of Brookline, MO and Patricia Russo and her husband John of Long Valley, NJ; one brother, Martin ?Bud?
