JOHNSON, Mr. Larry-age 59 passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 8, 2014 with 1:00 pm family hour at God's City of Faith 3202 Forest Hill Ave., Flint, MI 48504. Pastor Patricia Bell-Williams officiating. The final resting place for Mr. Johnson will be Sunset Hills Association, Flint, MI. Calling hours are 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Serenity Funeral Chapel.Mr. Larry Johnson was born January 15, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the son of James and Willie Johnson.Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Flint and attended Flint Community Schools. He was a member of Everlasting Missionary Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, fixing things, playing cards, and spending time with family, especially the children. He also enjoyed his boat and listening to the ?good old blues? and he later found a love for gospel music. Mr. Johnson was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and protector. He was loved by everyone he came in contact with. Mr. Larry Johnson leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Christine Johnson; 5 children, Larry Montgomery (Jaquetta Jones), Tiakawa Pierce, Roxanne Wright, Aleantra, Eveta, and Markita Montgomery; grandchildren, Mercede, Heaven, Demetrous, Larry III, Deairion, Leroice, Traviona, Marquavion, Desharie, Cortrell Jr., Mariah, Mariona, and Kamryn; 5 sisters, Eva Fordham, Mary (Virgil) Alexander, Joyce Haney, Vester (Matthew) Anthony, and Ruby Button; brother, Sammie Lee Johnson; sister-in-law, Nonie Ruffin; brother-in-law, Jerry Montgomery; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends and family, Demarcus Johnson, Lynette Anthony, Joyneisha Johnson, Barbara Goldsmith, Charlie Watkins, Robert Qualls, Fred Miller, the Smith, Brooks and Brenner families.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by: parents, James and Willie Johnson; sisters, Earsline Johnson and Jewel Price; brother, James L. Johnson; mother-in-law, Mary Montgomery; brother-in-law, Thomas Haney; sister-in-law, Brenda Johnson; son-in-law, Pete Williams.The family would like to express special thanks to: McLaren Hospice, special thanks to Mary Ann, and the Flint Street Riders.
