Mario G. San Diego, 59, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Evelyn (Ngo) San Diego, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.Mario was born in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, December 18, 1954, a son of the late Numeriano San Diego and Felina Galang San Diego and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was employed by Evonik Cyro LLC in Wallingford for over 20 years and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church. Mario enjoyed fishing, playing cards and chess. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a great friend to many.In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by his children Lalaine San Diego, Mark San Diego and Michael San Diego all of Wallingford; his 3 grandchildren Isaiah, Jahel and Damon; his sisters; and brothers Petronila Espiritu, Alberto San Diego, Geminiano San Diego, Remedios Caingat and her husband Renato, Moises San Diego, Violeta Relucio and her husband Rodrigo; several In laws; cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends in the Phillippines, California, and New Jersey.His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 9 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
