I will always remember seeing Bob fishing at Panama Lake. We always said he could catch fish with an empty hook. He was that good. I'm sure he's still taking fish off the line in Heaven!

I'm sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My husband Allan worked with him at the Spring factory and had many good times with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless. With deepest sympathy, Karen Maples

Robert Eugene Renner, 74 of Panama passed away at 12:05 AM on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health care Center.He was born on April 20, 1940 at Panama the son of Tony and Cloetta (Trobaugh) Renner. He married Frances "Fran" Siener on October 10, 1959 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents.Bob's work history included Laclede Steel in Alton, Eagle Pitcher, Coffeen Coal Mine and Greenville Spring Company where he worked in quality control. He loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed making fishing lures.Survivors include: His wife, Fran Renner of Panama, IL; Daughter, Carol Renner (companion, Mike Miller) of Panama, IL; Son, Tony Renner (companion, Jesse Swoboda) of St. Louis, MO; 3 Grandsons, Lance Elliott, Alexander Raymond and Zachary Raymond; Brothers in law, Tom (wife, Margaret) Siener of Joliet, IL and John (wife, Ann) Siener of St. Louis, MO; Sister in law, Charlotte (husband, Roy) Cherry of Chelsea, AL.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama with Pastor Dave Trover officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at Perfetti Funeral Home.Memorials are suggested to the Miners Memorial Fund located in Union Cemetery, Panama.Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama is in charge of arrangements.
