John L "Jack" Korthals, 67, of Pompano Beach, FL, born in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. Jack practiced law for 41 years in Pompano Beach. He was the past president of the local Ohio State Alumni Chapter. Jack was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. Jack is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Lars, John "Jake" K. (Rachel); daughter, Kate Durbin Earley; mother, Olga Korthals; brother, James (Deidre) Korthals, and sisters, Rajeanne Korthals and Victoria Nicholson, two grandchildren, Ella and Corban; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 8th, 11:00 AM in St. Coleman Catholic Church, 1200 S. Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach 33062. There will be no viewing prior to or following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to The Ohio State Alumni Chapter of Broward County; 8531 Whispering Oaks Way, West Palm Beach, FL 33411. Arrangements entrusted to Kalis-McIntee Funeral Home, Wilton Manors.
