He is a truly wonderful man that is very dearly loved by his family. He will live forever in their hearts.

Hope to see you in Heaven Joe. You were a good man and made your world a better place. ALL of your family and friends will miss you.

It was 16 years ago, on a hot and humid day in June. Needing help to finish a floor tiling job I reached out to my Dad for help. He was there for me as he has been my whole life. During the course of the days laboring I expressed my regret that he was working on Fathers day. He turned to me and said “I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing on Fathers Day than working side by side with my son”. This is just one memory of thousands I will always keep with me. That was my Dad. You...

We will miss Joe's smile and music. Glad he was able to attend a lot of the get togethers. A great guy.

We will miss Joe's great sense of humor, contagious smile, and warm, gentle heart. We were blessed and are grateful to have had him in our life. He is sadly missed!

Reginald "Joe"'s Obituary

Reginald (Joe) A. ClevelandEden-Reginald (Joe) A. Cleveland of Eden, VT was finally shown the mercy of God and went to heaven to be embraced by God's love, light and joy on Monday, November 24, 2014 after his courageous 5 year battle with prostate cancer. Born in Morrisville, VT on January 17, 1946, the son of Raymond and Annie Cleveland, he was the youngest of seven children. He has two brothers, Raymond, Jr., and Roland (Boomer) and four sisters, Shirley, Rose, Rebecca and Beverly.Joe had a love for music and was a self-taught guitar player. He enjoyed singing and playing for friends and family. He married his other half, Joyce Wescom on December 21, 1968. They shared a love for music and listening to them sing together was truly a gift. They made beautiful music together in song and in life. Their children, Ronald and Stacey, inherited their musical talents and they would often sing and play together as a family.Another one of Joe's many talents was seen in his work. Joe learned how to operate many kinds of large machinery starting when he was only 16. His expertise in running an excavator was amazing and with his eye for detail and dedication for perfection he created many breath taking landscapes. He was more than an operator, he was an excavator artist. He was an extraordinary man that had a heart of gold and a kind helpful soul. He found joy in helping anyone with anything in any way he could. He was handy and knowledgeable about so many things. His goods deeds were countless.Joe loved nature and its many wonders. He loved the stars and gazing at the night sky. He loved the ocean. He found great peace and relaxation walking the beaches in Maine and in Florida with his wife, Joyce, looking for natural treasures to take home. He enjoyed his posted and protected little garden of Eden and the solace that he felt with the sights and sounds of nature. He loved and adored his family as they did him. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather/poppy. Family was important. For many years they enjoyed camping trips with their five grandchildren sharing a special bond. They would also go camping with the entire family; Ronald Cleveland and his wife, Shelly and their children, Alyx and Kane along with Stacey Cleveland Ferriman and her husband, Mark and their children, Morgan, Elliott and Abbey. The countless memories that were created are priceless.Words from a favorite song-In the Garden by Dwight YoakamHe speaks and the sound of his voiceIs so sweet, the birds hush their singingand the melody that he gave to meWithin my heart is ringing. At Joe's request there will be no service. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the St. Johnsbury Planetarium in his honor at 1302 Main St., St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.Our #1. Forever in our hearts. We love and miss you.
