Jennifer's Obituaries

Jennifer Mosher, age 43 of Lincoln Park. Beloved daughter of Mary nee Walsh and the late Richard Patrick Mosher, Sr.; loving sister of Colleen (Bertel III) Olson, Maribeth (Charles) McElveen, Richard Patrick Jr. (Diana) and Daniel (Jennifer) Mosher; dear aunt of Bertel IV, Mary Kate, Danny, and Connor Olson, Michael, Margaret, Thomas and Kathleen Mosher, Georgia, Charlie, and Clementine McElveen, Grace and Gabrielle Mosher; dear cousin to many. Jennifer Ellen Mosher was a big personality. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was daughter, sister, aunt, friend and companion to all children. She adored children, adolescents and teenagers. She could not tolerate the suffering of any child. As the baby of five children, she always remained a child at heart. Jennifer loved to laugh and her laugh was contagious. She enjoyed a good joke. She told a fascinating story, embellishing a bit to make it more interesting and funny. She loved to travel, especially to the mountains or a tropical destination. She loved an apple martini, extra cold. She loved to go to the movies. She was a great gift giver and put a lot of time and thought into giving just the right gift for every recipient.Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. She fought valiantly until the day she died. Regardless of the facts or prognosis, Jennifer remained positive, seeking out further treatment to extend her life, for life was worth living. She became very well versed about breast cancer and complained little. We all underestimated the pain she endured recently, as she said little about it. She made dear friends throughout her cancer battle, with women who were battling the same disease. She was loving and compassionate to those she met, and they were so comforting to her. Jennifer's family takes comfort in the fact that the medical community learned much from Jennifer's stem cell transplant and trials, and that her participation may help the young women battling breast cancer today and in the future.Jennifer received her BA from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and her Masters in Social Work at Loyola University of Chicago. She graduated from Loyola with straight A's and loved every minute of the program. She especially enjoyed the field work she did with teenage mothers and hospice patients. Her ability to empathize with, and relate to, people from all walks of life was a good fit for social work.Jennifer's faith was deep and certain. She has joined her Dad in heaven where she suffers no more. It is those of us who loved her who are struggling to adjust to a world without her in it.Visitation Friday, January 9, 2015 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday January 10, 2015 10:30 a.m. from Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Boulevard at Old Orchard Road, Skokie, IL 60077 to SS.
