Mom, Dad and I want to express our deepest sympathy to the family. Mary was loved and appreciated by my folks. Mom just got a very happy, lovely letter from Mary 2 weeks ago. They recall so many lovely memories together....she will be greatly missed. We are thankful that she loved the Lord and is truly in a better place.

Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Stein, 93, Freelandville, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Freelandville Community Home. Mary was born June 30, 1921, in Bicknell, the daughter of George and Bertha (Carman) Smith. She married Francis Stein Sr. on November 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bicknell First Baptist Church for 85 years.Mary is survived by her son, Francis Stein and wife Bobbie of Bicknell; grandchildren, Jill Woodburn and husband Woody of Bicknell and Kevin Stein and fiance, Nicole Weber of Freelandville; and seven great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis; parents; daughter, Linda Purcell; two grandchildren; five brothers; and two sisters.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Bicknell First Baptist Church. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 AM until time of service. John McClure and Rev. Seth Alexander will officiate and she will be laid to rest at Asbury Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bicknell First Baptist Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel.
