Not sure what to say?

The world is a smaller place without Sonny in it. His loss continues to be felt deeply by us. I can not even imagine the void he left within his family. Our condolences to them as we pass this sad anniversary.

We continue to recognize the great void Sonny's passing has given the agricultural community. His presence, his friendship, his encouragement. We can barely imagine how greatly his absence is felt by his loved ones. RIP dear man...we miss you greatly, and think of you often.

That was a beautiful tribute to Sonny. I used to sell cattle to him just before they freshened many years ago. You are right when you wrote you could not forget him. His smile was contagious. When he spoke to you it was like you were the only person in the world and a special friend.

Dear Carol, Jason and Family,
My heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to all of you.
There are many people one might meet in their lifetime some being that "1 in a million" kind of person I think Sonny was that very kind of person.
What a special legacy to be known and remembered as someone who truly cared about others like he did.
The outpouring of people who have written heartfelt comments or attended the special service is a great testament to the kind of person he...

It was a pleasure dealing with Sonny over the years. He really was the ultimate cattle dealer. I'm going to miss him stopping at my restaurant for burgers & chocolate milk & trying to make a deal to feed everyone with him for $20.00.Still trying to get the best of me! I will miss you my friend.

We learned of Sonny Millers passing late Friday so we were not able to attend to make the necessary plans to attend his funeral on Saturday. Sonny was both a friend and broker for our family farm. His word was as good as gold and his business ethics were as just as solid. We will miss his smile and gentle voice, but most of all his friendship. Rest in peace Sonny.

Sonny's Obituary

Morrisville-Clarence "Sonny" Miller, Jr.If you ever met Sonny Miller you could not forget him, he just would not let you. He was the master of first impressions. The amazing thing was that within minutes a stranger became a friend and he would remember your name (and your spouses) at a later date. It didn't matter who you were, where you worked, how much money you had, where you were from or what your name was. Everyone was equal in his mind. If you knew him, he was your friend and he did not forget you, ever.As many friends as he had, he had only one true love and that was his wife of 52 years, Carol Miller. Whether he loved her more the day he died or any other day of their marriage was debatable, his love Clarence "Sonny" Miller, Jr.was that strong for her.His first born, Ingrid Lee, died tragically at age 2. He is also survived by his son Shaun and his wife Debra and their children Luke and Jordan, daughter Heather Allaire and her two sons Josh and Isaac, daughter Danielle and husband Chris Chauvin and their children Lindsey, Natalee, and Abigail, and son Jason and his wife Elisabeth and their children, Silas and Timothy. Gigi Brown, Star Bettis and Brent Miller are his surviving siblings. His chosen occupation was "Cattle Dealer", and boy was he proud of that. He never claimed to be anything else, nor did he want to. It was his life mission to change the definition of a Cattle Dealer. His aim was to provide a valuable service to both seller and buyer at the same time. As many farmers in this country will attest to, he was a different breed of cattle dealer. He willingly offered constructive advice and direction to many a farmer. It's a shame that the optimism and insight he provided for the dairy farming community is gone so soon and so sudden. Every few years the dairy farmers in this region lose an icon in their community; on January 13, 2015 Sonny Miller left us. Naturally, the voids in our lives will be larger for some than others, but hopefully we can all agree that life was better when he was driving his rig into our door yards or when he called us on our phones.I used to believe that my father loved Vermont above all else, but over the last few years I realized that it wasn't so much Vermont that he loved, but the people that lived here. This led me to the realization that it wasn't the state or the country you were from, but it was the person that you were. Whether you were a farmer, teacher, builder, writer or whatever, he didn't care and it didn't matter, he was your friend. And that was all that mattered to him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Peoples Academy gymnasium in Morrisville. A reception and dinner will follow the services at the Stonegrill Restaurant. Faith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made by visiting faithfh.net.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sonny's memory may be made to Lamoille Area Cancer Network, 198 Farr Avenue, Morrisville, VT 05661.
