She was the seventeenth born of twenty siblings. She received her education in the great state of Texas, where she also worked on the family's farm. In 1950, Florine moved to San Diego, California, where she met and fell in love with Oscar Jordan of the United States Army. On January 21, 1953, they were united in Holy Matrimony. The two decided to make San Diego their home. Their love continued to flourish as they were blessed with four beautiful children Regina Mae, Brenda Joyce, Raymond O. and Clee Esther Jane. During the earlier years, Florine accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and continued to Love the Lord with all her heart.Florine enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family members and friends. If you asked Florine about her grandchildren, she would simply reply, "My grandchildren are the bomb!" She would make her weekly rounds to the bingo hall and If you told Florine to have fun, she would tell you, "I'm going to bingo to win me some money," and everyone knows that special word she would use to express just how serious she was about playing bingo. She was also a huge basketball fan and loved the Lakers. She would never miss a game. She enjoyed playing bid whist, going to the beach and parks for barbecues and other outdoor activities. Florine, Oscar and their children would go fishing at various lakes throughout San Diego County and would bring home hundreds of fish. Florine was an amazing cook. Everyone enjoyed her fried fish, tasty spaghetti and her "out of this world" desserts. She would spread her love by spending time with her neighbors and often baking cakes and peach cobblers to share with others. You always felt welcomed in her home and in most cases, she would send you home with some of her delicious specialties. She had a very kind and generous heart and was always helping others in need. She will live in the hearts of her family and friends forever. On January 13, 2015, Florine was diagnosed with lung cancer. She accepted the diagnosis and continued to live her life. God saw Florine was getting weary, so He did what He knew best. He came by her side and whispered "Come and rest". God saw the road was getting rough and hills were hard to climb and on Friday, March 20, 2015, He gently closed her loving eyes and whispered, "Peace be thine". She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; daughter, Brenda Joyce Jordan-Thomas and her parents, Hilton Joyce and Buna Mosley .
