For many years Betty & Bill was a neighbor to me -- what a wealth of care, concern, and knowledge -- their advice will be with me forever. I also cherish the memories of Betty and I working the elections as judges.

Betty K. Fowler, 88 of Decatur formerly of Taylorville passed away at 1:15 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center in Decatur.She was born on March 28, 1927 at Clinton the daughter of Herbert and Nettie (Sutton) Jackson. She married William R. Fowler on December 20, 1947 at First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville; he preceded her in death on August 27, 2002. Her parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother also preceded her in death.Betty was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville.Survivors include: Daughter, Debbie (husband, Chris) Sanford of Champaign, IL; Son, William R. (wife, Diana) Fowler of Owaneco, IL; Granddaughter, Amber (husband, Brian) Wolanski of Owaneco, IL; Great granddaughter, Adalyn Wolanski.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Michael Evanchak officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday form 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
