Alice C. Hill

Alice C. Gibson Hill, 82 of Decatur, formerly of Taylorville and Mount Auburn passed away at 11:35 AM on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Decatur Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.She was born on December 24, 1933 at Blue Mound the daughter of John S. and Jennie Fern (Wantland) Gibson. She married Marion Richard Hill on October 13, 1956 at Mount Auburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.Alice operated a day care out of her home for more than 35 years. She had also worked as a waitress at a restaurant in Illiopolis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorville. She volunteered at the food pantry, enjoyed crocheting, painting and was an avid Cubs fan.Survivors: Husband, Marion R. Hill of Decatur, IL; Brothers, Delmar (wife, Anita) Gibson of the Philippines and Herbert (wife, Liza) Gibson of Decatur, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
