Joanne A.'s Obituary

Joanne Alice Slachta, 77, of Port Vue, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at her daughter Michelle's home in Glassport surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 12, 1939 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Kovach Behary. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Slachta who died June 13, 2008. They were married for 47 years. Joanne had worked for Wilcher News and the former Feig's Bakery in McKeesport. She loved cooking, gardening and her cherished cat, Kitty. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Drye of Port St. Lucie, FL, Michelle (Lane) Donnelly of Glassport, and Kimberly (Brian) Danlovich of Port Vue, son, Michael A. Slachta of Port St. Lucie, FL, sister, Denise E. Somerville and brother-in-law, James Neher, Sr, of Liberty Borough, grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Samantha, Holly, Jordan, Carly, Cody, Megan, Allyson, Jason and Kristy, great-grandchildren, Louis, Abby, Vincent, Jordyn, Adam, Blaine and Robbie, nieces, nephews, and her beloved friend, MaryLou Loy of Port Vue. She was preceded in death by her sister, Adele Neher. There is no visitation or service.
