Violet L. Sides

Violet L. Sides, 93 of Blue Mound passed away at 10:27 AM on Friday, August 5, 2016 at HSHS St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.She was born on June 19, 1923 ay Neelys Landing, Mo the daughter of Harrison and Tavie (Wills) King. Violet married Arnold E. Sides on July 5, 1941 at Jackson, MO; he preceded her in death on February 26, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Daughter, Margaret Lofland, Son, Ronald Sides, 2 Brothers, 3 Sisters, 2 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and 1 Great Great Grandchild.Violet worked many jobs over the years which included at a glove factory and shoe factory, chicken farm and a fruit farm. She enjoyed going to rummage sales and also having rummage sales.Survivors include: Sons, Roger (wife, Nila) Sides of Stonington, IL, Larry (wife, Kathy) Sides of Taylorville, IL and Tex (wife, Darline) Sides of Blue Mound, IL; Daughter, Linda (husband, Mike) Mulikey of St. Louis, MO; 16 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; Sister, Doris (husband, Leonard) Landis of Anna, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Ellen Moma officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Blue Mound. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home.Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
