Carol's Obituary

Carol Ann Lyerla, 75 of Taylorville Illinois passed away peacefully at 2:50 A.M. on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at Casey Health Care Center at Casey, Illinois after a recent diagnosis of lung cancer. Carol was born March 30, 1941, the daughter of Paul Beaty and Edith Caulk Beaty of Morrisonville. Carol grew up in Morrisonville, but spent her later years as a caregiver in Taylorville Illinois. She spent many years as stay at home mom until she developed a love for the elderly and worked as a private attendant for many years. Carol quit working periodically to become a full-time nanny for a few of her grandchildren during the years and agreed to move to Texas to do so. The bonds she developed with them sustained her during the years. Carol never knew a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone, big or small. Carol was very simplistic and got the biggest kick out of the smallest things. She was well known for all of her colorful thing-a-ma-jigs all over her apartment and took pleasure showing them off to everyone. She is survived by her children: Tim (Marla) Lyerla, of Austin, Texas, Julie (John Butera) Lyerla, of Wimberley, Texas, Ronnie (Marty) Lyerla of Carlinville, Illinois and Robbie (Pam) Lyerla, also of Austin, Texas; her siblings Jim Beaty of Morrisonville, Ruth Beaty and Delores McKinney of Springfield, Ill. and Judie Beaty of Taylorville, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends who became family, such as Brigitte Crawford who helped Carol tremendously this past 10 years.
