Charles was always a light for others.

It takes years of age to understand and appreciate the value of the blessings in our lives. Charles was a blessing in mine. He walked the walk of how a real man should conduct himself and he was a true light for others to follow. Charlie was part of a rare breed of men that you could honestly say no one had a bad word to say about him. Charles's Obituary

Charles E. McKinney, 88 of Morrisonville passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his home.He was born on September 5, 1928 in Christian County the son of Frank William and Lillian Mae (Skinner) McKinney. Charles married Norma Jean Eyman on June 19, 1949 at First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, W. Leroy McKinney.Charles worked as a rural mail carrier, retiring after 24 years of service. He was member of the United Methodist Church and Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721 both in Morrisonville. He was a Marine Corps veteran.Survivors: Wife, N. Jean McKinney of Morrisonville, IL; Son, William E. "Bill" McKinney of Morrisonville, IL; 2 Grandchildren; Sisters, Velma Marie Durbin of Morrisonville, IL and Linda Bonacorsi of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Rev. Dayle Badman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until time of service at the funeral home.Memorials are suggested to Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721.Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
