Linda C. Thomas, 69 of Taylorville passed away at 2:58 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.She was born on January 15, 1948 at Taylorville the daughter of Ralph D. "Bud" and Margaret June (Bedwell) McKavetz. She was preceded in death by her parents.Linda was an administrative secretary for the Illinois National Guard, retiring after 20 years of service. She enjoyed writing songs and poetry, fishing and flower gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.Survivors include: Her son, Brad (wife, Melissa) Thomas of Taylorville, IL; 2 Grandchildren, Meredith and Jacob Thomas; Brother, Ron (wife, Cheryl) McKavetz of Taylorville, IL; Niece, Elizabeth (husband, Brandon) Engelman; Nephew, Zac (wife, Sarah) McKavetz; Great nieces, Natalie and Camryn; Special friends, Becky Bishop and Larry Lochbaum.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with Revs. Jennifer Stillwell and Rick Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
