Dorothy Mansfield

Dorothy Mansfield of Urbana died at 1:30 pm on Thursday (March 16, 2017) at Champaign-Urbana Nursing and Rehab, Savoy.

Dorothy was born on Nov. 30, 1927 in Hazel Dale, IL; the daughter of Earl Swim and Merl Matthews Swim. She married Richard A. Mansfield on Dec. 15, 1945 at Urbana. He passed away on March 23, 2001.

Dorothy is survived by her 2 sons, Allen (Janice) Mansfield and Rick L. (Nancy) Mansfield; grandson, Allen (Penny) Mansfield, Jr; granddaughter, Molly (Adam Paradis) Mansfield; grandson, Matthew (Jena Rogers) Mansfield; step grandson, Brian (Margaret) Yeisley; step granddaughter, Beckey Yeisley; 2 great grandchildren, Abram Mansfield, Annabella Mansfield Paradis; 1 brother and her beloved dog, Holly.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters.

Her interests were her Dachshund, Holly; her flowers; feeding the wild birds, rabbits and squirrels. When she was younger she liked horse back riding and helping her sons show their horses on weekends and family outings.

Owens Funeral Home will conduct a graveside funeral service on Friday, March 24 at 11:00 am at Eastlawn Burial Park, Urbana.
