NANCY RUNYON-YOST, Nancy Runyon Yost, born July 16th, 1933, died January 10th, 2017 at Worthington Christian Village in Columbus, Ohio, after suffering a severe stroke. She was the youngest child of Stanley Everett Runyon and Treva Irene Geeting Runyon. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Everett Lloyd Runyon and long-time beloved life partner Frederick York. She graduated from Eaton High School and received her Bachelors and Master's degrees in Art Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Nancy taught art from 1965 to 1990 at Stewart Junior High School in Oxford. In addition to her teaching accomplishments she served as arts Coordinator for the school district and Special Areas Coordinator for the junior high school. Other positions she held included teaching at Miami University's Rowan Art Center and the Living Arts Center in Dayton, Ohio. After retiring from teaching Nancy established "Allegro Adornments," a unique line of original brooches and other jeweled items, in part inspired by the passing of her accomplished mother Treva's extensive work in cloisonné jewelry. She was featured in multiple fine art juried shows, and her unique Allegro adornments were also sold in many specialty shops and boutiques throughout the United States, including Saks Fifth Avenue. She is survived by her only child, Debra Datta (Christopher), granddaughters Kira Brunton (Greg), Natalia Burke (Ben), six great-grandchildren, cousins, June and Ralph Maggard and many lifelong friends including Gloria Gillette, Dale Rolfes and Allen Fruechtemeyer. Lastly, those who knew her best know she was always been an avid cat lover. She is survived by her beloved Himalayan, Bella Delilah, who now happily resides with three other Himalayans and an African dog with Debra and Christopher in Washington, DC. Nancy was cremated and a celebration of her life is being held on May 13th, selected because it's Mother's Day weekend, at the Ogle & Young Funeral Home in Oxford, Ohio at 1:00 PM.
