Murl E. Tryon, 89 of Morrisonville passed away at 7:40 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.He was born on October 25, 1927 in Macon County, IL the son of Thomas and Josephine (Burgess) Tryon. Murl married Myrtle Fay Sagle on December 8, 1950 at Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; Son, Murl Leon Tryon and a brother, Dale L. Tryon.Murl was a lifelong farmer. He was a past board member and treasurer of the Christian County Farm Bureau, past treasurer of the Christian County FS, lifetime member of Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721, VFW Post 4495 and Amvets Post 29. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morrisonville and a US Army veteran.Survivors include: His wife, M. Fay Tryon of Morrisonville, IL; Daughter, Grace (husband, Glenn) Himstedt of Bristol, VA; Sons, Lynn Tryon of Morrisonville, IL and Lyle (wife, Vicki) Tryon of Palmer, IL; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great grandchildren; 4 Nephews.Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Military funeral honors will be conducted by the Interveterans Burial Detail and the Department of Defense.Memorials are suggested to the Morrisonville/Palmer Food Pantry.Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
