Stanlee Clae's Obituary

Stanlee Clae Tyler, age 75, of Casey IL formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at home. He was born July 10, 1942 in Centralia, IL the son of Ted George Tyler and Mildred Joan Petty Tyler.

Survivors include his children, Margo B. (Scott) Tyler-McWilliams of Gurnee, IL; Stanlee (Sara) Tyler, Jr. of Hyde Park, NY; Carolyn Lechusza Aquallo of San Diego, CA; and; sister, Jody (Steve) Johnson of Charleston, IL; uncle, Jack K. Callahan of Terre Haute, IN and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Keath Tyler.

Stanlee was a US Airforce veteran serving his country from 1963 – 1968. He was a retired computer programmer for IBM. Stanlee was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Clark County Shrine Club and the Casey Masonic Lodge 442. After his service in the Air Force, Stanlee started his career with IBM and was transferred to Hawaii where his three children were born. During his IBM career, he was then moved to Fairfax, Virginia and finally to Poughkeepsie, New York. Stanlee worked in New York City for IsoGon Corp, later purchased by IBM, for 15 years and where he enjoyed exploring the city. Returning to Casey after his second retirement, he enjoyed exploring town and getting to know his friends and neighbors. Stanlee loved spending time with his grandchildren, photography, visiting museums, looking for antiques and collectables, international foods and restaurants, travelling in the summer to Cape Cod or the Midwest, and Volkswagen cars.

A family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with his family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Casey Senior Center, the Mildred Tyler Scholarship Fund or the Casey VFW Post 5762.
