Not sure what to say?

Grandpa will be missed. He shared so many great memories with my wife Lea, and his great grandchildren McKayla and Jacob. We loved him so much. Miss you Grandpa!!

Donna, Johnny & Mark, I'm saddened to hear your Dad, my Uncle John has passed. My memories with all of us spending holidays together are vivid... The big hairdo's, from velour to bell bottoms with whiffs of turkey and rabbit hanging in the air. Your family was a big part of my childhood - I've missed you all. Uncle John can now celebrate... God Bless...

So sorry for your loss. He was so nice. We always talked about his motorcycles. He will be missed

John was born October 2, 1928, in Chicago, a son of the late John Joseph and Magdelyn (Kammar) Lasky.  In 1950 he was united in marriage to Grada Lemmens and they became the parents of three children.  Following Grada’s death in 1987, he later married Barbara Jensen and she preceded him in death in 2002.  He is survived by his children, Donna Hartigan of Romeoville, Illinois; John Lasky of Cape Coral, Florida, and Mark Lasky and wife Denise of Charleston; three grandchildren, Dylan Lasky and girlfriend Presten of Charleston, Jeff Klein and wife Lea of Plainfield, Illinois and Christopher Klein and wife Drea of Island Lake, Illinois; three great-grandchildren, McKayla, Jacob and Mya Klein; a brother, Robert Lasky and wife Elaine of Spring Grove, Illinois and a sister, Lois Nehrkorn of Chicago.

John was a longtime employee of Revere Graphic Services located in Chicago where he was a pressroom foreman.

John was born and raised in the Catholic faith.  He was a member of the V-8 Auto Club of America and his love for cars, motorcycles, and basically anything on wheels was a lifelong passion.  He enjoyed restoring antique cars and motorcycles and for a time was a go-kart racer.  Additional interests included coin collecting and repairing watches.  His love for animals was evident by the special bond he shared with Mark and Denise’s dog, Toby (now deceased), and by his many visits to the Coles County Animal Shelter to help with the animals.

John was blessed with many friends and was dearly loved by a family who will always cherish their many fond memories of special times shared.
