Jack was born October 13, 1947 in Tomkinsville, Kentucky, a son of the late Edward L. and Myrtle J. (Ward) Morgan.  He married Judith Darlene Friese on February 16, 1979 in Mattoon, Illinois and they have lovingly shared the past 38 years.  In addition to Judy he survived by his children, Brian E. Morgan (Kim) of Humboldt, Illinois, Angie Neal (James Gire) of Tuscola, Illinois, Keith Morgan (Hope) and Wendy Varda (Brian) all of Charleston and Michael Morgan of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; a nephew who he loved as a son, Chris Robertson (Darla) of Charleston; nine grandchildren, Mathew Morgan, Dalton Neal, Baylee Neal, Paige Wilson Varda, Brittany Wilson Varda, Brianna Wilson Varda, Stephen Varda, Tapanga Morgan and Tresten Mallernee; three sisters, Sharon Sue Rhinehart and Loretta Robertson (Allen, Jr.), both of Mattoon; Pamela Shore of California; a brother, Billy Morgan (Wendy) of Neoga, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents Jack was preceded by twin brothers.

Jack honorably served his country with the United States Navy.  He was a mechanic and taught drivers education at the Adult Center in Mattoon before becoming a truck driver for Star Delivery and Transfer based in Morton, Illinois.  He was a former member of the Mattoon Sentinel CB Club.

Jack’s love for gardening, flowers and growing things, may have started at an early age as he grew up working in the tobacco fields of Kentucky.  He also enjoyed other hobbies such as woodworking, construction and watching Chicago Cubs baseball as he was a die-hard fan.  There was nothing more dear to Jack than his family as they were his pride and joy.  He will always be remembered for his compassionate and caring heart for others, values he made certain to instill in his children.  Jack will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
