Funeral services for Louise M. Barry, 94, of Battle Creek will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church, Battle Creek. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery, Battle Creek. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the church. Steffen Mortuary of Battle Creek is in charge of arrangements.
Louise died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Community Pride Care Center, Battle Creek.
Louise was born August 24, 1923 to Gustav and Erna (Jungck) Bostelmann in Republic County, Kansas, near Chester, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chester, NE. She attended St. John’s Parochial School and Graduated from Chester High School.
On October 21, 1945, Louise married Fred Barry. Louise was employed in Norfolk for many years. They lived and farmed west of battle Creek until they retired in 1984 and moved into Battle Creek.
Louise was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was involved in many church societies.
Louise is survived by her daughter Arllys Bockelman of Pierce, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Gladys Meisinger of Norfolk, Ardith Warneke of Pierce, 2 brothers, Dwayne (Avis) Bostelman of Superior, Wallace (Jackie) Bostelmann of Moscow, TN, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred on November 23, 1996, a son Darrell in 1988, son-in-law Robert Bockelman in 2012 and a brother Harold.
