Has it really been 5-years? Time goes by so fast! I can still see your goofy grin and smile. I appreciate the lessons you taugh me in the Air Force. Rest in peace...your watch is over...we can take it from here Airman.

Michael's Obituary

A distinguished Senior Master Sergeant, in the US Air Force, serving with the 914 Air Refueling Wing for over 27 Years before his retirement, Michael L. McMullen, passed away peacefully at Elderwood of Cheektowaga, in Cheektowaga, New York, at the age of 66.While in the Air Force, Michael received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with 1 device, National Defense Service Medal with 1 device, Air Force Training Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M and Bronze Hourglass, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal with 6 devices, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 1 device, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 device, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border, during deployments to Iraq and Kuwait while serving during the periods of Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. In his earlier years, Michael was a Plastics Engineer, at the Fisher Price toy company plant, located in Holland and Medina, NY, till they closed. For the last 20 years, till his retirement, he served as a Floor Supervisor, at the BMP America, also in Medina, NY, which specialized in the manufacture and conversion of Technical Non Woven Textiles, Engineered Polyurethane Elastomers, Mechanical Components and Sub Systems, for use in industrial equipment.  He also was an avid fisherman and was the Best Arm Chair Coach the Buffalo Bills ever had!Michael was the beloved husband of Lucille (nee Hettinger) McMullen and devoted father of Tiffany McMullen, Stacy (David) Whittaker, William (Dee) McMullen and Jeffrey (Angela) McMullen. He was also the loving son of Virginia Koch and the late Leslie McMullen and brother of Dennis McMullen and the late Linda Kukoleca and late Patrick McMullen and also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will gather on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 4-7 PM at PIETSZAK FUNERAL HOME, 2400 William St (near Harlem) where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM, for those wishing to attend.Future Inurnment is being planned for, in the New Pembroke National Cemetery, in Corfu, New York.
