Hazel M. Hepp, age 89, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 7:15 a.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab, Pinckneyville, IL.
Hazel was born on November 26, 1927 in Tilden, IL, a daughter to Carlo S. and Maria M. (Chiarottino) Orella. On May 28, 1946, she married Harlan Dean Hepp in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1995. Hazel was a homemaker and seamstress for Pinckneyville Garment Factory. She was a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church. She loved to sew and especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Hepp of Pinckneyville, IL and Steve Hepp of Sesser, IL; one daughter, Jane (Jerry) Rieckenberg of Durham, N.C., IL; four grandchildren, Amy Taylor of Pinckneyville, IL, Evé (Shawn) Cooper of Chicago, IL, Desirée Rieckenberg (Matt Starcke) Durham, N.C., and Danielle Fritz of Austin, TX; five great-grandchildren, Lacy Russell, Annette Starcke, Sophia Cooper, Olivia Cooper and Amelia Cooper; two great-great-grandchildren, Brylee Russell, and Taylee Porter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Lee officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
