Devin's Obituary

Devin Taylor Hiller, age 28, of Cahokia, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 11:35 a.m. in Waterloo, IL.

Devin was born on July 15, 1989 in Jacksonville, FL, a son to Shawn Hiller and Lisa Lively. He worked as a machinist at VanMeter's Drive Axles since 2012 and was a V.F.W. Auxiliary member. Devin had enjoyed playing football in high school and for 3 years was the All-South selection for Cahokia, IL. He had also earned a football scholarship to McKendree College and was chosen as the Demetrius Johnson St. Louis Metro Area All-American. He loved barbequing, music and was a movie buff. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family and had a huge heart.

Survivors include his father, Shawn Hiller of Pinckneyville, IL; his mother, Lisa (Anthony Sr.) VanMeter of Cahokia, IL; paternal grandparents, Sam and Carolyn Hiller of Tamaroa, IL; maternal grandparents, Archie and Dianne Lively of Pinckneyville, IL, Gloria (Dave) Leiner of Coulterville, IL and Shirley Allen of Cahokia, IL; two brothers, Ryan (Shelbey) Hiller of Pinckneyville, IL and Anthony (Stacey) VanMeter Jr of O'Fallon, IL; three sisters, Lauren (James) Prochaska of Nashville, IL, Sierra VanMeter of St. Louis, MO and Taylor Hiller of DuQuoin, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Jewel and Imogene Hackworth; paternal grandmother, Ceil Moore; maternal grandfather, D.A. Allen; step-mother, Jo Carol Hiller; an uncle, Kevin Hiller; an aunt, Heather Carle; and a cousin, Christopher Liter.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with ???? officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
