Jessica warmed more hearts and touched more lives in a positive manner in her short lifetime than most people who live decades longer. I told her several times how special she was to my mother during her stay at Heartland, to which she always responded by saying sweet things about my mom. She will be greatly missed.

Jessica Lynn Shutts, age 35, of Greenup, IL passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Cumberland County, IL from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident along with her fiancé, A.J. Scheiner. She was born February 28, 1982 in Lafayette Twp., Coles County, IL the daughter of Kenn Eugene Shutts and Peggy Lynn Claypool Shutts Loftis.
Survivors include her children, Kennady Drennan, Raygen Drennan and Madyson Waugh; mother, Peggy Loftis of Hazel Dell, IL; father, Kenn Shutts of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Amy Silverman of Hazel Dell, IL and Shannon Lamb of Shelbyville, IL; uncles and aunts, Penny May (Bob), Butch Claypool (Carol) and Wanda Welch; cousins, Charlene Keller, Denise Butler, Pam Shutts, Caitlyn Claypool, JeriClaypool, Tracy Herrara (Diego), Rob May and Chris May and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; stepfather, Eldon Loftis; nephew, Michael Shutts and fiance, A.J. Scheiner.
Jessica was a 2001 graduate of Casey Westfield High School and a Lake Land College graduate. She was employed as a CNA, Restorative Care Specialist and Phlebotomist at Heartland Nursing Center in Casey, IL. She was a member of the Moriah Church of God. Jessica’s entire life revolved around her children and her family, all of whom will greatly miss her and cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
