Lonnie's Obituary

Lonnie Ogilvie, age 77, of Swanwick, IL, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 3:30 a.m. in his home.

Lonnie was born on February 4, 1940 in Winkle, IL, a son to Ella E. (Nevill) and Melroy Ogilvie. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. On August 24, 1963, he married Marilyn Bumann at Swanwick Presbyterian Church, Swanwick, IL and she survives. He was a member of Calvary Church, Sparta, IL and had retired from General Motors in 1991. Lonnie always enjoyed his family, serving the Lord, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Ogilvie of Swanwick, IL; two sons, Jeff (Karlie) Ogilvie of Winkle, IL and Tim (Brenda) Ogilvie of Jackson, MO; four brothers, Ernie (Shirley) Ogilvie of Coulterville, IL, Danny (Darlene) Ogilvie of Coulterville, IL, Kenneth Ogilvie of Winkle, IL and Ronald Ogilvie of Swanwick, IL; a sister, Carol (Lefty) Leggans of Elkville, IL; and five grandchildren, Breanna, Trista, Tarik, Hailey and Trenton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL with military graveside rites by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL.

Friends may call at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of sending flowers please make donations to Calvary Church to support their efforts to further the kingdom of Christ.
