Gloria D. Hamilton, age 93, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at 12:25 p.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab, Pinckneyville, IL
Gloria was born on January 26, 1924 in East St. Louis, IL, a daughter to Oscar and Lucille (Lockard) Gillison. She married William John Hamilton and he preceded her in death in 1991. Gloria was a Christian and retired as a nurse's aide from the Randolph County Health Care, Sparta, IL. She had also worked as a community care nurse, was a member of the Royal Neighbors, loved crocheting, sewing, word search books and spending time with her great and great-great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Don (Carol) Bodeker of Sparta, IL ; one daughter, Jeanie Meyer of Coulterville, IL; one sister, Dean Frieman of San Diego CA; one sister-in-law, Helen Gillison of Sparta, IL; five grandchildren, Ricci (David) Leggans, Chris (John) Watkins, Donna Leeper, Sheila (Robert) Otto, Jake (Tracey) Malott Jr.; twelve great-grandchildren, Jason (Shaunda) Leeper, Christopher Yearian, Dustin (Jenny) Stanley, Jonathan (Rachel) Yearian, Jordan Leggans, Treasure Leggans, Corey Leeper, Credence Malott, Ceirra (Brandon) Rains, Amber (Lester) Lohman, Chelsea Otto, and Jordan Otto; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers; one sister; one son-in-law, Richard Meyer; and one grandson, Oscar Bodeker.
Gloria's wishes were to be cremated with a family memorial service to be held at a later date.
