Darrell David McClanahan, age 77, of Murphysboro, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 6:20 a.m. at his residence with his loving companion of many years by his side.
Darrell was born on June 25, 1940 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Charles E. and Helen L. (Campbell) McClanahan. He had retired from working for TUMS in Pinckneyville, IL. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include his companion of many years, Mary Biggs of Murphysboro, IL; a son, Daniel McClanahan of DuQuoin, IL; a daughter, Tyla McClanahan of Watseka, IL; a step-son Rudy Bramlett of Christopher, IL; a step-daughter Susan Bramlett Lennons of DuQuoin, IL; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Charles McClanahan and Daniel McClanahan, both of DuQuoin, IL, William McClanahan of Benton, IL, Jack (Linda) McClanahan of Chester, IL, and James McClanahan of Dowell, IL; three sisters, Donna (Chuck) McClanahan-Steele of Thompsonville, IL, Cynthia D. (Jay) Sims of Carbondale, IL, and Cecclia Straube of Cambria, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Ann McClanahan.
Graveside services will be held at Vancil Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. All those wanting to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Pyatt Funeral Home in DuQuoin, IL is in Charge of the arrangements.
